  •   Automated RGP Contact Lens Fitting system with fluorescein simulation of Lens Fitting and database of commercial lenses. This includes automated transfer, via Internet, of patient data from clinician to lens dispenser. Product reduces patient chair time by 51%, has a 91% first-lens fit rate, and is in use worldwide.

  • The Holladay Intra-Ocular Lens Consultant, comprising the expertise of three leading cataract surgeons (Drs. J Holladay, J Retzlaff, and R Hoffer). Software now in daily use by approx. 500 US & international cataract surgeons.
  • 3-D Corneal Studio: interactive tool to allow ophthalmic surgeon to examine corneal surface shape in magnified detail.

  • Surgical Planning Software series for Radial and Arcuate Keratotomy (RK & AK), comprising expertise of four leading Refractive Surgeons. Products in daily use at several hundred refractive surgery clinics.

  • Designed an email application that enables clinicians to share clinical data obtained from a corneal topographer over the Internet. The application is integrated into the instrument’s software for maximum ease of use.

09/91 - 09/92: - Full-time consultant for VisiOptics, Houston TX,: Specified, designed and assisted in the implementation of a Corneal Topography Imaging instrument, including instrument design, video image acquisition, and Contact Lens Fitting software software. VisiOptics has since been acquired by Alcon, Inc.

12/88 - 08/91: General Partner, 4N Systems Co., Houston TX - Co-Developer of a real-time plant control system using Expert System, C++ and OOP/GUI techniques. Project involved plant simulation to provide normal and crisis management test data.

6/84 - 11/88: Full-time consultant for Positron Corporation, Houston TX: Developed 3-D image reconstruction theory, simulation and display software for a Positron Emission Tomography scanner.

06/88 - Now: Editorial Board Member, Addison-Wesley Publishing, Computer Science Division, and Prentice-Hall Publishing, Electrical Eng. Division.
